Small town pastors have opportunities to officiate funerals often, and in many cases for people they’ve don’t even know. While it’s a bit of an art form to do so, I think it’s a great and often overlooked venue for gospel influence in out of the way places. #churchrevitalization
“Some have compassion, making a difference” - Jude 1:22.
Would you pray with me as we have closing ceremonies for our summer kids program tomorrow? Bible school is a missions trip to your own community.
Also, my wife is 39 weeks pregnant with our #3 so it could get interesting!
PK’s, otherwise know as “free labor” in the church world! Lil’ man and I treated the lawn for ants, built a water slide, and set up tables and chairs for 100 people.
@Jonatha96345027 Keep up the good work brother. Through ministries like this the Lord has grown our number beyond that original 30 to include a great number of young families. It just takes faith, time, and persistence.
🧵Four years ago, our first summer at Faith Baptist, we felt burdened to do something to reach kids and families in our community. Our church consisted of 30 members, mostly senior adults, and no young families with kids.
By faith we started a summer kids program.
Any day now my precious wife is due to deliver our third child. Our daughter Maddie decided to mimic mommy for a pic. Love sharing the adventure of life with my family!
@jasonkovacs Most churches have around 65 members and a single pastor that works a regular job. I’ve only ever met one pastor who went on a sabbatical (it was well deserved). I’ve been around small church ministry my whole life and while nice, sabbaticals shouldn’t be an expectation.
Proverbs 14:4 - "Where no oxen are, the crib is clean: but much increase is by the strength of the ox." The increase of tomorrow's harvest is contingent upon today's labors and sacrifices. We get out of life and ministry, not what we want, but what we labor and sacrifice for.
I tried preaching without notes one Sunday a while back, I took them with me, but didn’t use them. I later asked my wife if she noticed. She replied “I did.” I probed, “what did you think?” She kindly replied, “If I were you, I’d go back to using notes.” 😂 Back to notes I went!
