@PeterHamby@ScottFConroy As a promotion, they were handing it out for free at Pier 39 in SF and I happened to be there. I went home with about 3 cases of the stuff. It did not do good things to my insides.
@JuddLegum "But the Constitution provides the vice president with no such authority before the joint session of Congress. And the truth is, there’s almost no idea more un-American than the notion that any one person could choose the American president.”
@JuddLegum He said as much last Jan as well...
"there are those in our party who believe that in my position as presiding officer over the joint session, that I possessed the authority to reject or return electoral votes certified by states.... 1/2
@gtconway3d I was in the room for Pence speech... also of note - he got a standing ovation from the crowd after remarks were done. Lots of people we spoke to urged Republican party to move past 2020. More in @randikayeCNN piece airing tonight on @AC360
Pence goes right at Trump. Gets standing O after his speech is done. "President Trump is wrong. I had no right to overturn the election. The presidency belongs to the American people and the American people alone."
Pence - There are those who believe I possessed authority to reject votes. President Trump is wrong. Presidency belongs to American people. Calls it in America. He had no right to overturn the election.
Pence says he took the oath to defend the constitution. Made a promise to the American people. We may always keep our oath even if it may be politically expedient not to do so. We may keep our oath even if it hurts.
Pence says in a free society everyone should have the choice on whether to be vaccinated. It’s wrong and unfair to make doctors and nurses choose between vaccines and losing their jobs.
