@IanDunt What is wrong with A Levels? Children do a broad range of subjects at GCSE, then 3 at A level, then 1 at degree. Feels about right to me. Why fuck up something that works?
@IanDunt The only long term decision he had to make was to squash down the costs, call in favours, shuffle budgets and fucking deliver HS2, but he sacrificed the long term option for the short term, like spending £8,500,000,000 fixing potholes. For FUCKs sake.
@snapps1001 @IanDunt One govt can’t bind the next. That undermines democracy. Any impediment (scorched earth) the Tories try to lay can be overcome. We need infrastructure. The Tories (lack of) oversight of HS2 has caused the cost spiral. Labour have to finish it and. patrol the cost.
@giveupalready@Philip_Redhair@HardingMike@IanDunt Govt has to be able to build infrastructure - and pay a fair price. People buying land will see an opportunity to buy cheap (govt needs the cash to fulfill its pledges) and sell high (labour can’t build HS2 otherwise), all aided an abetted by Tories.
@Jon_Chalk1 @pjennings73pj@IanDunt They could promise to pay no more for the land than the landowner paid for it, whatever additional investment the owner had made in it in the meantime. As long as they give fair warning of their intention, buyers can choose to take the risk.
@SteveWe70760962@RupertLowe10 Labour would administer the asylum processing properly so that people can be accepted and stop being provided with accommodation, or rejected and removed.
@RupertLowe10 They wouldn’t spend the money on cancer centres even if they weren’t intentionally and performatively spending millions on accommodating asylum seekers, Rupert, you racist muppet.
