I am SO proud of my 5th graders for their work on this project. Since April, they collaborated to compose a theme and variations piece, learned how to realize it using MIDI instruments, and finally filmed themselves layering in "live" percussion. Way to go! (Link in comments)

Today in 3rd, we designed our own clef symbols to help learn that a clef is an "answer key" for reading letters. So in addition to treble and bass clef, we now have the ice cream clef, the bean clef, the money clef, and the potato clef! @LowesIslandElem - DL classes did it too!

My third graders have been learning about time signatures all this week, so I let them hold my conductor's baton and "direct" their classmates to only drum when they gave a drumbeat. Great job everyone!
