Is @andreajenkyns right to say all her newly-hired staff will be unable to work from home?
Speaking on Politics North @Stephenson_Ryan told us he fears WFH is putting the “economy of the future at risk” #bbcpn

We’re talking about gambling taxes, rogue bailiffs, hospice funding and working from home #bbcpn
Taxing salary sacrifice encourages workers to consume more today - risking further inflation - and save less for their retirement. This will be ticking time-bomb for our aging economy.
Not to mention it gives pension funds less capital to buy government debt.
Illiterate.
🚨 NEW: Rachel Reeves will use the Budget to impose a £2k-a-year limit on how much salary can go into a pension before paying National Insurance
The move will raise £2bn and hit salary sacrifice schemes

👀 looking forward to reading @IainDale’s latest book. It was a pleasure to sit down and talk of my experience as the bookies’ favourite in the 2021 Batley & Spen by-election, packing biscuits with @BorisJohnson at @foxs_biscuits, and losing by 323 votes!
My next book is published on 18 Sept. 732 pages of essays on the most important by-elections 1789 to 2025. Buying it qualifies you for official political geek status. 88 different by-elections by 87 different authors. Full list and preorder details here

Another powerful deputation to council today from school support staff, @GMB_union and parents on how the SEND crisis is hitting recruitment, fair pay and safe staffing levels.
The Government must remove the High Needs cap on gains and wake up to the damage this is doing.
As these pilots expand, and lobbying begins to grant permanent licences, it would be good to see how this innovation can be expanded across the high street with an Ocado/Deliveroo style format allowing the butcher, greengrocer, newsagent, etc to add their goods to the robots.
🧵 This week, Leeds Council received a report highlighting how a pilot of ‘delivery robots’ (Starship Technologies) has saved 22,000 car miles.
But no measure was given to assess the economic impact of customers vacating the high street. @BBCNews

I’m disappointed that the council’s report didn’t include an assessment of the economic impact - both on @coopuk and the wider high street, as a result of people not visiting the high street and spending in other shops, cafes, etc.
@Conservatives@WetherbyCllrs "Why would they come here, when they can park for free somewhere else?" said Wetherby café owner to @WetherbyCllrs.
Struggling with rising costs, including Labour's NI hike, businesses - including council tenants - fear just £1 an hour is already driving dozens away from parks.
@Conservatives@WetherbyCllrs .@WetherbyCllrs addresses, "Many financial pressures the council now faces have been made right here in Leeds" including Labour's vanity projects like #Leeds2023.
A £1.9m loan for VAT contributions was to be returned. HMRC rejected parts of claim and Leeds stands to lose <£900k.
💷 Today is #LeedsBudget Day!
📺 Tune in online now to watch the Labour council budget and our response and costed @Conservatives alternative from @WetherbyCllrs Alan Lamb to cut through their excuses as £103.8m is cut, Council Tax is hiked by 5% again. https://t.co/PdWAzaqZyJ
The council’s administration has decided that child bereavement services are prime for the chop, whilst other services, such as a recently appointed ‘play strategy officer’ have been prioritised.
Fears for children as bereavement service shuts.
