THE CHILDHOOD TRAUMA OF BEING A POOR BLACK BOY
IN A CAPITALIST SOCIETY
If you ain’t grow up with roaches in your house at some point
Mouses in your house
Never had to share a bed
Never had to share a room
Never had to wear clothes from the dirty clothes hamper
Never had to walk to the laundromat
Ain’t have no money at the book fair
One pair of shoes for the whole school year
Can’t ask mom for lunch money
You ain’t was a kid and heard your family that’s more successful talking about
Y’all’s family for being poor
Etc
You can’t relate to young niggas that started selling drugs early
Started hitting the streets early
To be the man of the house
You just can’t.. that’s really out of the mud
Type shit when you started with that
not glorifying poverty
But if you ain’t grow up like that
You just can’t relate certain things
That took place in the black boys psyche
To become that street nigga
That gang member
That drug dealer
That man of the house at 13
So when you get the money you are constantly in a position subconsciously of trying to please that poor inner child
That didn’t have all those things
And got made fun of for not having it
So now you only date 10s
Now you only drive Benz
Now you need 3 chains
You need 2 houses etc
Still trying to prove to that poor inner child that suffered in poverty that
“Look at us now”
But you still aren’t even free until
you free yourself from having to prove to the inner child that you are no longer hurting
Picture yourself heading to a Sacramento Kings playoff game, enjoying your leisure time with people close to you. Then you see the person who killed one of your family members.

You are the company you keep.
You are who you associate with.
If you work with shit you smell like shit.
Keep people around with good energy
If you not feeding me you eating off me.

Love cast out fear !
You remember the woman who killed a 🐻 because the 🐻 tried to attack her child right 🤔
We have a name for a wife who must bury her husband (widow)
But what do we call a mother or a father who has to bury their child ✊🏿
Bridging the gap with law enforcement starts with the dialogue
I’m willing to start the dialogue no matter judgement or criticism because damn it if I don’t who will 🤷🏾♂️
I believe we need our own restoration teams with culturally competent therapists as #stephonclark
Passion without direction is chaos
Passion with direction is purpose.
& remember EVERYONE has either a Price or Agenda 🤷🏾♂️
Very FEW people are willing to pay the price for that agenda ✊🏿
