Leaving home in Perth Western Australia on a clockwise circumnavigation of Australia in a @Tesla Model YL. This twelfth lap in an EV will be the first using @Tesla_AI Full Self Driving (Supervised) V14 (.3.3)
@GDickins Yeah imo the profiles mainly impact the speed limit currently.
I hope there is some change over time through Reinforced Learning (RL) or something.
@grok can you elaborate if the profiles update / evolve over time with more kms? Tesla could tweak some background settings
The funniest thing about owning a Tesla?
People who don't own one always have the strongest opinions about it. ๐
Meanwhile I'm just driving around, spending next to nothing and enjoying the silence
Well, another short test drive to test two more specific things.
1. Prayed deeply as I engaged FSD from inside my garage! (what am I even doing?!) My previous comment about our driveway needing v26 to do it... well that was silly. It backed straight out and up the steep drive and on it's way. Made a believer of me all over again. Damn. Holy cow I am still speechless.
2. In 'Standard' mode it is much more aggressive than I realised in heavy traffic. It (safely) weaved and moved in and out to go round other cars it obviously deemed to be 'too slow'. Man I was not expecting that at all, especially when approaching lights where we have to make a left turn. May have to dial back to 'Chill' for a bit. I can't imagine 'Hurry' mode ๐๐คฃ๐จ
3. On the way home, in the right hand lane, I need to turn right at the next light 500m away. FSD indicates left....? It moves left to the centre lane...what are you doing? I look in the rearview mirror and there's a psycho killer weaving and speeding up from behind. FSD just casually got out of the way, let the loser pass on our right, and merged back right without emotion. Is this what it can do now? No road rage detected. Beautiful!
4. So far it is just unreal to have this version. I am going to spend all day out there!
No disengagements yet.
I am so happy - all our issues are fixed entirely. It's a sunny day ๐
@shaunwor They are all more zoomy than v13. The acceleration aggression is about the same for all profiles in v14.
The biggest differences atm with profiles is just how they treat the speed limit.
