Are you ready to Lead for Ambitious and Equitable Teaching of Mathematics at your school this year? Come and learn with us at our session #pli2022 @LASchoolsNW
https://t.co/pC8i88cIiU “Math is hard and unnatural.” I disagree with this writer’s conclusion. Our kiddos “naturally” make sense of our world through counting, noticing and wondering.
@howie_hua Awesome! Always look to the numbers for what strategy will make sense for you. Its like if you were subtracting 100-98. The traditional regrouping would be inefficient and tedious in this case.
@aleaglen@BerkeleyEverett I constantly tell my daughter I don’t care how fast you do your facts and I’m always telling her I care how you think. Also, when given the opportunity, I invite teachers to consider and interrogate if it matters how fast students need to solve “facts” and how it adds 😟
