Recruiting Stock Rising: Colton Helton @Coltonhelton23 Opens Puma NXTPRO Strong
2027 6’4” Kentucky Future Elite @KYFutureElite27 guard Colton Helton turned in a strong opening weekend on the Puma NXTPRO Circuit in Rockford, Illinois. Helton averaged 13 points, 6 rebounds, and 4 assists per game, while posting a high game of 20 points, 6 rebounds, and 5 assists, including four made threes.
From a recruiting standpoint, Helton’s size, pace, and all-around feel stood out. At 6’4”, he has good positional size in the backcourt and showed the ability to impact the game in multiple ways. He was effective pushing the ball in transition, making good reads with the ball in his hands, and keeping the offense moving. His willingness to share the ball, combined with his court vision, allowed him to create opportunities for teammates while still looking comfortable scoring within the flow of the game.
Helton also showed promising shot-making ability from the perimeter. He displayed confidence from three-point range, extended the defense, and proved he can make teams pay when left open. On top of that, he rebounded well for a guard and competed on both ends, which added to his value over the weekend.
Overall, Helton looked like a versatile guard who can impact winning without needing to dominate the ball. His combination of size, shooting touch, transition play, and passing instincts gives him a strong foundation moving forward. Kentucky Future Elite finished 3-1 on the weekend and will be back on the floor in Detroit, Michigan, April 17-19.
@kentucky_future 17U Deacon James leads all scorers with 10 1st half points. The steady guard can handle the ball and gives his team stability at PG. His strong frame helps him beat defenders off the dribble. James beat his man and finished with his inside hand.

2027 Colton Helton (@Coltonhelton23) of @kentucky_future 2027 had yet another stat sheet stuffer kind of day in Rockford, IL on the @PRO16League circuit, once again proving why he’s the definition of a blue collar gem. Helping his squad to a 1-1 finish, Colton’s impact showed up everywhere, not just in scoring, but in the way he controlled the game and kept his team connected on both ends.
In a 70-64 win over Unlimited Athletics (MI), he had a strong, all-around performance with 17pts, raining in 3 triples, while adding 6rebs and 4assists. He scored when it was there, spaced the floor, and made smart decisions that kept the offense flowing. Every possession felt purposeful with him involved.
In game two, even as the scoring dipped, his presence never did. He still found ways to impact winning with 3pts, 4rebs, and 4assists, staying active, making plays, and doing the work that doesn’t always get highlighted but always matters.
That’s the value Colton brings. Consistent effort, toughness, and a willingness to do whatever the moment calls for. Whether he’s filling it up or facilitating and battling on the glass, he plays the game the right way every time out.

@kentucky_future 17U Ashton Pflunger is a beast on the offensive glass. The strong forward cannot be kept off the boards giving his team extra possessions.
@NxtProHoops@pflu96927
@kentucky_future 17U Preston North is a slasher who likes to attack off the dribble. He’s an active cutter off the ball and gives his team versatility with his ability to get to the paint and finish or find the open man.
@NxtProHoops
@kentucky_future Ashton Pflunger is playing with physicality on both ends. He’s been active on the offensive and defensive glass. He showed he can finish in the post with an up and under move.
