Without going all pseudo-intellectual; at the heart of it, football is all about the shared human experience. Today will be one of those. Enjoy it; wear something daft, have another drink, cuddle a stranger.

Who truly knows what comes next, but for today who cares? Today is about the last year and the scale of shared achievement. It's about how people worked together and kept the thing breathing. And it's about the renewal of hope and possibility.

Park protests, leaflets, boycotts, embassies, Leicester, Boro, Megastore sell-outs, Oxford, endless togetherness on endless doomed away trips. Fear, defiance, faith. Personally, I'm proud and privileged to have witnessed the whole lot.

Today's society feels increasingly individual and cold and uninterested in the value of community. It wasn't without its moments, but the overwhelming feeling is that Sheffield Wednesday's 2025/26 travails brought it all back. Awesome in the true sense of the word.

@owlsmadmorris @wellbeaten1977 Yes I know but I think they are still there, including the urgency for infrastructure improvements to be done ‘within months’. Why is the focus from the EFL not on sorting the takeover but more on future restrictions? If Storch walks we are doomed.

@owlsmadmorris @wellbeaten1977 I’m not too concerned about the points deduction mate. It’s more the impact of that and other restrictions that may deter Storch and other potential buyers. We will fold if no buyer is found. For the EFL to actively put them off is wrong.

@19592210alan @henrywinter Look I get what you’re saying about small businesses. But if the club folds then they will not get a penny either. And they lose a future customer that they can try to recoup previous losses from. It’s a lose lose for all. The EFL are actively putting off buyers.

@KieranMaguire The #EFL is 100% heading for catastrophe. Too much reliance on single owners to fund all the loses. Once they pull out the funding it’s in crisis. With global markets so volatile at the moment it’s just a matter of time before more clubs go into administration.

@stevechu75 Great job @stevechu75 that you and the @SWFCTrust are doing to expose the @EFL. In my view former owners who loaned money, effectively to themselves, should not be classed as creditors. Only outside businesses that have provided a service should be prioritised.
