The Office of the Registrar of Political Parties (ORPP) firmly believe that the youth are not just the future of political party but the present. However, young people remain unrepresented in the political environment, due to challenges eg financial constraints, limited mentorship.
Opportunities are available that the youth should take advantage of such as the legal frameworks that advocate for youth involvement and also public demand for youth empowerment.
There is need for young people to get involved in seeking political accountability through participation in voter registration, and youth led advocacy groups and social media activism and volunteerism in policy monitoring.

The National Assembly needs to come up with better strategies to include the voices of the young people. The Gen-Z demonstrations last year is a wake up call on the need for inclusive dialogue. The young people want to be involved in the governance processes, as leaders we need to listen to them.
