Commando starring Arnold Schwarzenegger @Schwarzenegger hit screens on this day in 1985.
Who else was there on opening night or saw this masterpiece of 80s action in theaters?
1985 may have been the high-water mark of 80s cinema: Commando, Rambo: First Blood Part 2, Rocky IV, Fletch, The Goonies, Back To The Future, Pale Rider, Invasion U.S.A., The Breakfast Club, American Ninja, Weird Science, Cocoon, Spies Like Us, A View To A Kill, St. Elmo’s Fire, Missing in Action 2: The Beginning, Silverado, Vision Quest, Runaway Train, Witness, To Live and Die in L.A., National Lampoon’s European Vacation, Ladyhawk, Remo Williams: The Adventure Begins, Code of Silence, King Solomon’s Mines, Death Wish 3, The Jewel of the Nile, Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome, among others.
If I had a time machine, I might take it back to 1985 and stay there…
What was your favorite film of 1985?
After watching Week 1 of the NFL season I believe we need a real preseason. I saw many players and teams who were not ready for the speed or contact of a real game. Tackling, penalties, mental errors, turned games around. Defenses especially can’t get ready without some contact.
I think we’ll see much better play and have a different impression of many of these teams in October. So don’t get too high or too low on your team just yet.
As a kid, you probably read the entire:
- "Harry Potter" series: 4,100 pages
- "Hunger Games" series: 1,155 pages
- "Chronicles of Narnia" series: 1,680 pages
- "Series of Unfortunate Events" series: 3,390 pages
- "Percy Jackson & the Olympians" series: 2,300 pages
But now you say, "I'm just not a reader"?
Bullsh*t.
You're still a reader. You've just forgotten how great books are.
Books are still amazing, you just have to find the right ones for you.
@SamAntar Unfortunately, people like @DirectorPulte won't prosecute these crimes. Even when the work has been done for them. Until he does these crimes will continue.
@pulte Now how about investigating a mortgage fraud, connected to bankruptcy fraud with stolen valor thrown in so they can avoid property taxes by falsely claiming a VA Disability. I've already done the legwork.
