@ldang247365@ZavalaA Yeah the more I've learned about it it's clear it's going to hurt people's pockets, at least up front. They're arguing people will save money in the long term because they'll spend less on gas, but high gas prices is a problem our government created here in California.
@VGmt0800@Tony90814@ZavalaA We both agree, it's harmful to people's pockets for sure. Maybe it'll encourage everyone to drive used trucks and use off-road tires lol I can dream
@VGmt0800@Tony90814@ZavalaA No like all of the tires you mentioned are not impacted, which is my original question. This doesn't seem to effect the market for people in my mountain community (we all have snow and/or off road tires).
@jewishgungirl@ZavalaA Thanks for the specifics. My additional question is on the screenshot you sent it also says that the new required tires would also have a long life span, is it not as long as the cheaper rubber?
@jessup66@ZavalaA You and I agree on this since they could change the exception list in the future. For now, the exception list includes every type of tire I can think of that matters (snow/offroad tires). Im curious, for the small number of tires not on the exception list, how big is that market?
@ErinOHenry@ZavalaA I hear what you're saying for sure. The exemption list includes every tire that I can think of that matters to my community (snow/off-road tires, etc). I dont know what tires are actually being regulated. They could change the exemption list in the future though I agree.
@ZavalaA I genuinely don't understand, the exclusions list includes everyone's tires from snow tires, off road, etc. How is this law going to change anything?

Insane stat of the day: California almonds use roughly 3โ5.5 million acre-feet of water per year, depending on methodology.
That's ~4-7x more water than all data centers in North America used combined in 2025.
