These are not great inflation figures. Core CPI inflation (excluding energy, food, alcohol and tobacco) rose by 6.8% in year to April 2023, up from 6.2% in March - the highest rate since March 1992. This is what Bank of Eng looks at so further interest rate rises are likely. And food inflation still 19.1%, down negligibly from 19.2%. Pretty disappointing for all of us. And a set back for the PM’s ambition to halve inflation this year
To avoid long-term economic stagnation and social disorder UK needs to increase workers’ share of GDP and reduce capital’s share.'
Without this millions will face insecurity and a sustainable economy can't be built.
Any political party up to the task?

Boris Johnson's taxpayer-funded Partygate legal bill hits £245,000.
Millions can't get legal-aid.
In the last year Johnson collected nearly £6m in consultancy, donations and speaking fees, but still gets public money.
Magic money tree exists for Tories.

We are getting on delivering for the British people. Delivering soaring inflation, high taxes, high food prices, high energy prices, higher mortgages, increased poverty, lower wages, a broken NHS, decimated public services and rivers full of shit. You’re welcome.
