One in three Churchill cleaners in Parliament could lose their job. That is not a saving, it is a scandal.
Thank you @steveyemm for signing our letter.

Completely agree.
Many have until now pointed solely at failed trusts.
While they are certainly at faults - regulators, commissioners, investigations, government and boards had responsibilities to step in.
None did!
A statutory PI needs to look at everything.

Jack and Sarah Hawkins' daughter Harriet was stillborn in 2016. Now, they are among those calling for a statutory public inquiry into maternity services, to examine how the culture of the hospital became so toxic👇

A joint statement on the publication of the Ockenden report from MPs whose constituents are under the care of Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust:
Many of the people who keep our government running- cleaners, caterers, security staff, are outsourced workers. This has meant they can be overlooked and treated differently.
This is not fair and we are ending it.
NEW: My interview with national maternity adviser Michelle Welsh MP
• Shares her own birth trauma story: “I cannot believe that they didn’t know they were putting my son’s life and my life in danger... they were prepared to take the risk”
• Says a maternity commissioner is still needed
• Declares the CQC, NMC and GMC regulators “unfit for purpose” & should be abolished
• Wants the right to a birth debrief introduced everywhere and continuity of care throughout pregnancy until 2m+ after birth
• Predicts questions will “be left unanswered” by the Amos and Ockenden reviews, so “we have to keep the door open” to a statutory inquiry

The debate over funding of the Defence Investment Plan needs resolving by the PM. It's incomprehensible that we can't find the few billion pounds to address John Healey's concerns about properly defending the country when there are multi-billion DESNZ capital programmes for home insulation, heat pumps and carbon capture and storage that could be delayed. All important things to do but impossible to view them as bigger priorities than vital defence equipment.
Donna Ockenden will publish her full report 24/6. This “culture report” from 2015 /2016 shows staff concerns back then .. just before catastrophic failings led to the death of baby Harriet Hawkins … https://t.co/Ms2rHGyu7D
It has been great catching up with so many comrades and friends at #GMB26.
Delighted to continue to support our fantastic members in the manufacturing industry.
I want to find the UK’s first trillion-dollar firm.
That’s why this morning I've unveiled our bespoke concierge service to support businesses of the future to start, scale, and stay in the UK.
When I say I’m aggressively ambitious in pursuit of economic growth, I mean it.
Families navigating baby loss often turn to online spaces for support and connection; it is unacceptable for those same spaces to magnify distress through insensitive advertising.
Following our letter, I spoke to BBC News about Meta pushing out harmful unwanted ads to bereaved families 🎥
Tonight's Panorama programme on maternity failures is a stark reminder of the suffering endured by too many families here in Nottinghamshire.

💬 New Opinion: Healthcare innovation must not be left stuck at the pilot stage.
Following @UKAIofficial and Curia’s Healthcare and Life Sciences Parliamentary Showcase, Mansfield MP, @steveyemm argues that the NHS must move from promising pilots to adoption, scale and real patient benefit. Read more: https://t.co/KHhenhhunT
Great to see the Chancellor with Sharon, a fantastic leader for GMB in the Potteries, who has done so much to fight for a better future for the ceramics industry.
An extraordinary woman, in the truest sense.

Tell the Labour councillors who’ve just lost their seats because of the smears from Green candidates, all they need to do is form a ‘progressive alliance’.
Nothing progressive about harbouring racists, many of whom, we deemed not fit to represent or be members of the Labour Party.
Those happy with the broken status quo don’t have to deal with reality of insecure employment, not knowing from one week to the next what will be in your pay packet.
Time to ignore the bad bosses and Tory peers and deliver a meaningful right to a guaranteed hours contract.
When I say we will act, I mean it.
This consultation matters - that’s why I want to hear from as many people as possible, before it ends today:
