@PriceyPants13 (Plus there's the whole "you don't own the game, just a licence" thing. Hard to lend a game to a friend or trade in for 50c at EB Games down the line when it's locked to your console account too)
@PriceyPants13 Most people, if they're buying physical, are doing so because they specifically want the disc/physical media, or because it's a collectors edition. You can buy a code at home instantly at any time lol
Code in a box is just... weirdly antagonistic. Nobody would -choose- that.
@Mr_Rebs_ 343 Studios "Stick to a visual aesthetic that makes sense, is identifiable and is actually visually appealing" challenge (impossible).
Half of these designs look over the top for the sake of it. Wouldn't be surprised if AI was involved as none of it looks particularly desirable
@HaloBoxStudios Bit of both IMO. But games feel like they are getting designed in ways where uncontrolled (and potentially unbalanced) things like this are far less common. :(
@CalumWorthy Imagine looking at "ChatGPT wearing the skinsuit of a dead relative and talking with their voice but without lived experience or wisdom" and thinking "Yes, people want this, fund it".
AI bros won't even let people die gracefully, fucking hell.
PSA to anyone getting screwed over by a massive Microsoft 365 price hike, the option to switch to the Non-AI version of the plan (for the same previous price) is hidden ONLY on the cancellation page. I was pretty close to cancelling too, absurd pricing.
@MintBlitz Clientside Red vs Blue switch in settings would solve a lot of issues I have. I simply do not see the outline most of the time when I'm in the thick of a shootout - I look at the radar or shoot once, and keep shooting if there's a hit marker. It's dumb but that's where I'm at.
@CallumUptonYT@VeVeVault IDC if I "own" my gun skin on the blockchain or on a centralised server like Ubisoft, it's copyright and the total lack of financial incentive that stops your Breakpoint helmet being used in Fall Guys, and it instead being on the blockchain changes basically nothing.
@CallumUptonYT@VeVeVault KYC will forever be a massive audience filter, and there's nothing web3 devs can do about that. Only the smart, the desperate, the disgustingly rich and the financially irresponsible tend to do crypto, and that's not going to form a healthy (or loyal) playerbase/game ecosystem.
