@charliewhelan@Feargal_Sharkey But why? If the regulator can't even hold the companies they regulate to a professional standard then it's a double failure. Allowing this would only help Thames water, everyone else loses
@robprogressive It's not sustainable to stay tax free. It works short term whilst they transition from oil to something else.
And anyone who claims to be successful but would relocate to a desert just to minimise their tax bill, could perhaps expand their interpretation of success
I know everyone's talking about nationalising @Thameswater this morning but here's another one to add to the list, @SouthernWater
❌ Failed to meet customer satisfaction targets.
❌ Failed to meet leakage targets.
❌ Failed to meet consumption targets.
❌ Failed to meet supply interruption targets.
❌ Failed to meet drinking water quality standards.
❌ Failed to meet mains repair targets.
❌ Failed to meet pollution incident targets.
❌ Failed to meet sewer collapse targets.
❌ Failed to meet sewage works compliance targets.
❌ Total pollution incidents UP.
❌ Serious pollution incidents UP.
❌ Failure to report pollution incidents UP.
❌ Failure to comply with discharge permits UP.
❌ Failure to meet enviro improvement targets UP.
And customers are expected to pay 53% more on their bills for this nonsense.
We're being taken for a ride and govt is allowing it to happen.

Gooaaaaallllll
Blasted in (and I really mean blasted) from the tightest of angles, fans’ favourite Tyler Pearson brings us level. Great assist from new signing Cameron Howard 🤝
We’re back in it.
🏰 1 - 1 🌳
@thatginamiller Better to speak up now than keep suffering silently. The absolute lies from the Brexit party was what got it over the line, it's been a disaster on every level.
@Feargal_Sharkey@SouthernWater More and more evidence they will never prioritise health, environment and customers above profits. Profits at any cost, all too often in these days of corporate greed and tax avoidance
@Feargal_Sharkey Unless you're just buying time to try and find a way to keep the profits rolling in without actually fixing anything.
I feel like time should be running out for these profiteering fraudsters, but change is still being resisted from central government.
@Feargal_Sharkey@Keir_Starmer please focus on getting this industry reorganised. These failing water companies are trashing our countryside and cheating taxpayers and voters. Take ownership back from them.
@Feargal_Sharkey Given he's just had the review completed, you expect the facts to be accurate.
It's clear that voters & Taxpayers are just being misled & Ofwat, (even though worthless) are just being made the scapegoat for keeping things as they are.
Keep up the great work @Feargal_Sharkey
@Keir_Starmer Blaming Ofwat for the corporate greed and morally bankrupt behaviour of the water companies, will cost you dearly. You need to understand just how many voters want change in this industry.
@EdwardJDavey Using Ofwat as a scapegoat for not holding water companies to account, will not sort the problem.
We're in an environmental crisis. Water companies are financially and morally bankrupt. Taxpayers & citizens expect prison and renationalisatiin.
