@data_republican@Notwokenow@amazon I funded a startup to do just this.
The data is so muddy we shelved it.
Know anyone who may be able to crack this code?
@majid_hatamian The British estimated the Christian population of Lebanon to be between 78-80% prior to WW I, 52% in 1960, and today, after nearly 50 years of Christian massacres and civil wars, 30%.
@art_laffer calculated that the rate that maximizes government revenue is somewhere between 12 and 20% (I think he estimated 18% back in the 90s).
Joseph took 20% and the people almost revolted (not to mention, it was sufficient for twice the period of taxation).
10% taxed through the states, then a remainder sent to the federal government, would seem to be more than sufficient to accomplish any government's necessary activities and provide a substantial social safety net, considering the size of our economy.
However, taxing income necessarily deters labor; so a flat tax on consumer purchases (and not savings, not some portion of home and not some portion of transportation; zero tax on utilities) would make more sense to me.
@CanadaTaxGuy@walkerpj1@GMDanTO Please explain to me like I'm a 5 year old precisely how a 50% 'exit' tax on top of a 50% income tax is completely and totally different from indentured servitude?
Excepting that with indentured servitude, when you're dept is paid, you're 100% FREE.
@greg_travis What exactly did Canada "give" Gad that any other civilized nation would not (other than a 50% income tax rate prior to his present additional 50% confiscation)?
