Yes Ron, indeed, how would anyone of us recognise those involved in our abuse and imprisonment without trial? Perish the thought. Better to focus on Jerusalem and the wonderful US-backed human rights violations bestowed upon the Palestinians, right? Oh wait…
https://t.co/P0DpT6FyRH Despite false confessions from Peter Reilly, David Saraceno, Bobby Johnson, and Richard Lapointe, Conn. resisted recording interrogations for years. Perhaps @glynco et al, by relying on the best research, can persuade legislators to ban deception.
Today marks 20 years since Donald Rumsfeld signed off on torture methods including stripping, exploiting fears to terrify prisoners, stress positions for hours & 20hrs interrogations.
In his handwriting below: "I stand for 8-10 hours A day. Why is standing limited to 4 hours."

Alhamdulilah! Praise to Allah. Thank God for how far we have come. Against all odds and every stone they threw at us.
And if they think they can win we will let them know that we won’t stop & won’t give up as long as we breathe.
@TheMauritanian
Yesterday in a @KLM flight I watched this amazing movie. To those who still don’t see the point of the closure of Gitmo, give yourself a 2 Horus of reflection
Huge thanks to my @amnesty/ @amnestyusa colleagues who worked very hard in this case https://t.co/cA9toak9xF
I was honoured to host a Q&A Session with Mohamedou Ould Slahi at the European Parliament, in Brussels.
@MohamedouOuld is an example of resilience. He was arrested for 14 years, based only in unproven suspicions and associations, without any charges and without a fair trial. 👇
Everyone needs to read this highly important book. If the government won’t release the unredacted Torture Report then @cathyscottclark and @AdrianMLevy will take care of it. Great investigative work.

@ghelt@glynco I think they hold on to the belief that the results of the torture saved thousands of lives. That’s what was drilled into our heads to make us comfortable with hiding him from the ICRC, attorneys and hiding the fact that we were in Cuba. Realizing you were wrong is a mindf**ck
@ghelt@glynco You are right. They also have too much pride. They spent almost 20 years thinking they were heroes for what they did. All their friends, family, and colleagues see them that way also.
It’s part of their identity and to admit they were wrong is almost impossible.
@ghelt@glynco You could show Sydney 100% proof of Mohamadou’s innocence, and it wouldn’t change her mind. She took part in planning Mohamadou’s torture, but when another guard and I snuck in an uncleared movie, she claimed we would give him nightmares. She is insane.
