Here’s what you need to know about the call which launches later this month...️ [1/5]
This feels massively massively important from the people we want to lead us - take the respect but don’t expect deference. Blind loyalty to ideas that are wrong is how we got into a massive political mess from @BorisJohnson et al in the first place.
Our first keynote @RachBrandreth and @NHSDevon#advancedpractice ICS Lead Donna Pereira, on developing roles in emerging areas - "ensuring the right stakeholders are in the room allows roles to be developed to meet service needs"

We are aware that some registrants have received automated calls regarding supposed HCPC investigations, and been asked to contact a specified number.

It's ten years since I wrote "The new era of thinking and practice in change and transformation: A call to action for leaders of health and care" with Steve Fairman, in the very early days of @horizonsNHS. It's been downloaded many tens of thousands of times.
The core messages of:
1. Activate disruptors, heretics, radicals and mavericks
2. Lead transformation from ‘the edge’
3. Change your story
4. Curate rather than create knowledge
5. Build bridges to connect the disconnected
are still as relevant as ever. We have to stick with constancy of purpose for the long haul: https://t.co/rOx44Sg10K
Belonging at work really matters. Employees with a strong sense of belonging outperform others on almost every metric, from engagement & retention to performance & wellbeing. Good leadership supports belonging: People with an effective manager are 6X more likely to feel this sense of belonging. Six ways to gauge belonging at work based on research:
1) Overall sense of belonging: I feel a strong sense of belonging at my organisation
2) Welcomed: I feel warmly welcomed at in my organisation (first day, new team, new role)
3) Known: I feel known as an individual at work
4) Included: I feel included at work (can be myself, my opinions are valued, can respectfully disagree)
5) Supported: I am supported at work in achieving my personal & professional development goals
6) Connected: I feel a strong connection with peers and colleagues
Download a great free toolkit ("blueprint") for building belonging: https://t.co/omyRE2aFku Thank you @Achievers
Our thoughts are with those affected by the attack at a Sheffield GP surgery yesterday.
It's important we recognise the pressures our GP registrars, GPs and practice teams face each day.
Events like this are thankfully rare, but have an awful impact on staff and patients. [1/2]
HUGE NEWS!
United Nations & World Health Organisation new report stating that the medical model of mental health needs to be overhauled; and that psychiatric diagnosis, labelling & pathologising people who are traumatised, abused, in poverty, & oppressed impacts human rights.
@dan_warrender@benhannigan@cityalan@D10Coff Sometimes, the interpretation and transactional approach around the nursing standards in its relationship to mental health nursing means we need to take our identity and unique skill set into our own hands. Community MH nursing needs investment and recognition of its interface.
