@jjmeemaa@danscapephoto@johnmichaelw That's the thing. Either is just pandering to agent A or B. Interesting that Mr M flipped back to Mendes for VP. Probably better the devil you know and all that. Having said that, VP was one of Kia's clients until fairly recently.
@danscapephoto@jjmeemaa@johnmichaelw We simply don't know that. Hindsight. We'd likely got Fernandes but then a whole bunch of Mendes clients ongoing. West Ham already grumbling about the likes of Pablo. On the face of it, you look back and go, well Edu was doing that job at Arsenal...
@jjmeemaa@danscapephoto@johnmichaelw Mendes/Nuno are joined at the hip. Mendes was getting the squeeze at Forest in favour of Edu. Funny how all the things Nuno moaned about were more than applicable at West Ham. Also, funny how Mendes had got into a position of power at West Ham. The way Maresca left Chelsea too...
@danscapephoto My concern too with VP is his CV of v short term stays. Bournemouth were brutal sacking O'Neil for Iraola and he didn't win a game for 10 matches
@danscapephoto Not sure about Glasner... Palace, Frankfurt, Wolfsburg. Major kick offs with ownership and similar reasons each time. Does 2 years at a time (successfully) and then off
@jjmeemaa@nffc999 and Newcastle. There's a handful of points separating Europe qualification down to near relegation spots. Very easy to either climb or drop several places. Good first quarter of the season so important
@ethanlamb01 As few ins and outs as possible. A couple of players who are genuine first 11s is enough as per Anderson/Milenkovic pre season 2024. Too many players last summer not challenging first 11. Enough βdepthβ now. First 11 is where it counts to improve. Smaller steps
@_mrjoey@RunswickRed One midfielder won't be enough to replace him (without overall team drop off). Have wondered similar on Sangare. Anderson drives and dictates the team.. can that be Sangare?
@MonnyDachismo@AlbonosReds For me, he'll be seen more as PL firefighter. Only so many clubs and Palace had issues with him when they thought they had him signed and then he moved goalposts. Again, Everton and he apparently had some insistence on keeping Rodriguez as part of package
@MonnyDachismo@AlbonosReds Yeah. I guess he'll be shaping the squad with Mendes but still feel there could be too many moving parts for Nuno's liking. Unlikely to get an opportunity at that level of club again so he'll feel nothing to lose
@MonnyDachismo@AlbonosReds Nuno is hanging in mainly because Mendes is clearly holding a lot of sway now which as a consequence gives him more say. It'll be an interesting watch as West Ham will be the big fixture for every team next season. Nuno will need to be winning but winning in a certain style
@WestHam_Central Running out of viable clubs so probably last chance at a club of a certain stature. West Ham will be expected to smash the league. Wonder if that will suit his pragmatic style. Wolves will get referenced but Mendes went big getting the likes of Neves, Jota and Boly for Nuno
@GamingHawk91564@Robin_W_1 If he did then that's fine. It's his choice to make (if clubs can agree a fee). All the talk about it being about Β£s he's earning will be nonsense. One thing for sure is that Forest won't get lowballed. Someone will have to dig very deep
