@TooMuchMortons_ If by the deadline 2+ of the big 4 are producing, I could see being a buyer.
If not, trade everything you can and place your hope in high upside that still exists with a Tatis/Merrill/Salas core going forward.
This has quietly been a miracle month in medicine.
In the last 5 weeks we’ve got news on:
- retatrutide, the triple agonist GLP-1 from Lilly, basically melting fat and body-wide inflammation at record levels
- RevMed’s new pancreatic cancer drug showing unprecedented abilities to extend life
- small trial of a one-and-done PCSK9 gene editing therapy for slashing LDL cholesterol
- Mayo’s AI-assisted radiology showing vastly improved cancer detection
- this new therapy for metastatic solid tumors
This stuff is at varying levels of evidence. Retatrutide is ~100% on its way, other stuff needs more clinical trial data. But put it together and we’re maybe on the verge of majorly reducing the mortality of heart disease and cancer, the two leading causes of death in America.
WMATA is recommending against a new station to serve the northern side of the RFK redevelopment.
Instead a new "Gold Line" BRT could connect RFK to Union Station along the former DC Streetcar corridor. #washingtondc
Everyone who cares about climate should understand this. Texas, with no pro-climate policies, has blown passed California in clean energy. In large part because Texas has less red tape and makes it easier to build.
One of the impressive things about Mamdani is that he listens to experts and evidence, and learns and adapts. He wasn't YIMBY 12 months ago. He did have the goal of bringing down housing costs, but his approach wouldn't have worked. I credit @DKThomp with exposing him to the evidence that YIMBY was the way to do it. And so Mamdani changed his approach and went to a much more market-oriented plan to lower housing costs in NYC. This is exceedingly rare in politicians. We should applaud and encourage it.

@TooMuchMortons_ Tatis has a 10 WAR season coming— until this moment I never seriously thought they might trade him.
But let’s say Tatis and Crone for Ben Rice, Will Warren, Jasson Dominguez, and another piece. And then you have the money to resign King and add another established starter.
