First Lady Jill Biden gave this year’s “Teacher of the Year” honor a much deserved upgrade by hosting the event as a State Dinner.

Teachers in ball gowns and tuxes, including the 2024 National Teacher of the Year, Missy Testerman dined alongside First Lady Jill Biden at the White House on Thursday.

Take a minute to listen to Testerman’s moving speech. @Missytesterman is an English-as-a-second-language teacher in rural Tennessee. She gives voice to so many educators at a time when only about half of our teachers say they’re respected & seen as professionals by the general public.
