Execution-Style Killing of Simphiwe Rachel ‘Mandy’ Poulten Demands Justice and National Accountability.
Statement:
On the morning of Wednesday, 27 August 2025, Simphiwe Rachel ‘Mandy’ Poulten was
murdered in broad daylight in an execution-style killing outside a nail salon in Randburg, JHB.
She was fatally
shot multiple times in a manner that was cold, calculated, and deliberate.
This was not a
robbery. This was not a random act. It was a targeted, brutal execution of a woman whose
only “crime” was being a woman in a country where femicide has reached epidemic proportions.
Mandy’s killing highlights the ongoing crisis of gender-based violence and femicide in South Africa, where women are murdered daily, often with impunity.
Too many families are left shattered while perpetrators walk free, emboldened by a system that consistently fails
women.
Mandy was a devoted mother of two, a loving daughter, and a resilient woman…
Her life was stolen in a hail of bullets that should shame us all into action.
…Disturbing is that there have been no meaningful updates from the South African Police Service, or any arrests made despite statements already shared by the Poulten family.
We demand:
· A full and transparent investigation into Mandy’s killing.
· Swift arrest and prosecution of those responsible.
· Accountability from the South African Police Service to take concrete, urgent steps to
combat femicide.
Distractions are not powerful because of what is happening outside, its because of what is happening on the inside. It is our response to avoiding discomfort. Dealing head on with discomfort can help you focus and achieve more.
