If a culture disrespects women, what is it good for? This question cuts to the heart of a deeper issue. The purpose of female Islamic dress, as intended, is to promote modesty and protect women from unwanted attention. But when we see men reacting with violence to a woman's uncovered face and hair, it’s clear that the problem isn’t the dress, it’s the culture!
In many Arab and Islamic countries, violence against women is alarmingly common. Studies show that at least one in three women is beaten by her husband. Yet, instead of addressing the root cause—men’s behavior & the diktats of the Qur’an, Western culture demurs because “multiculturalism”. The video you shared isn’t just about a dress code; it’s a snapshot of a culture that fails to respect women’s autonomy and safety. If modesty is meant to foster dignity, why does it coexist with such disrespect? The answer lies in patriarchal traditions that have excused violence rather than prevented it. We must ask: What good is a culture that objectifies women, blames them for men’s actions, and perpetuates harm? It’s time to challenge these norms, not just the dress code. True respect for women means holding men accountable, promoting education, and rewriting the narrative.

Jo, this is an appalling & overly simplistic surmising of what is a very complex situation.

This girl may well be autistic. One in five people with anorexia are autistic & the reasons for the anorexia are varied & complex.

Pushing a trans narrative where unnecessary is harmful.

Schools must collect accurate data on sex not gender.
