very well said! @StirUni, or any other university, should not be allowed to increase rent by up to 9% in the middle of a cost of living crisis.
Thank you @markruskell for raising this issue in government
Come to our event on the 21st of May at the @kiltedkangaroo and support our @UCU_Stirling!
We are really excited to see what kind of talent there is out there! Hope to see you there!
Advocating transphobia in the name of women's rights whilst running an active campaign against the rights of sex workers (who are overwhelmingly women) to unionise and be protected from eviction really is the gender-critical movement in a nutshell.
Fantastic to see this! Sex work is work & if you are advocating for the Nordic model, it will do far more harm in a cost of living crisis as the NM would not stop sex work; it would force sex workers into more dangerous forms of sex work. Sex workers need allies, not gatekeepers.
No student should have to do sex work alongside their studies because no student should have to work alongside their studies.
For @strath_occupied to stand against a policy that seeks to support workers to unionise and be protected from eviction is deeply disappointing.
We stand with sex workers. Sex workers deserve the right to unionise, access to financial and legal support, and access to adequate sexual health care. Tenants engaging in sex work should not be subject to evictions ✊
I limit my time checking Twitter (and for good reason) but I can say this motion was based on research from organisations across the world on how we can best support sex workers. Amnesty International, Young Women’s Movement Scotland, SWARM Collective, the list goes on…
Delighted to say that @stirlingunion's motion to support student sex workers passed @nusscotland conference with 85% of delegates voting for the motion, making it NUS Scotland Policy.

Really delighted that @NUSScotland now has clear policy that sex work is work, and that student sex workers must be supported. ✊
Great work by @stirlingunion!
We will continue to tackle the stigma by campaigning against abolitionism and working with sex worker-led organisations such as @scotpep You can read the full policy here: https://t.co/BTYZ2p9WUF or find the link in my bio.

This motion lays out several points however, it simply means NUS Scotland will support the decriminalisation of sex work to allow sex workers the right to legally organise, to be able co-habitiate and work alongside other sex workers.
