Students 🤝 Workers
Today at @UniStrathclyde management tried to intimidate us. It didn’t work and we got them round the table again. AND exams affected by strikes have a no detriment policy. Get the workers fair pay and get rid of the rotten exam system! #StrathLife

The police has been called on to campus to kick the students out of the building. A serious escalation of repression against Palestine protests on campus. All out to Charles Wilson building!
Open Letter to Stand Up To Racism
If you are marching today, please ensure that the genocide in Gaza is not sidelined or censored. Zionism is racism. It's racism in Palestine and its racism in the UK. Zionists are a key element of the push for Islamophobia.
Introduction to the open letter:
Why the Fight Against Racism and Fascism is Integral to the Fight Against Zionism and Israeli Apartheid: Challenging Stand Up to Racism Is Necessary
In England and Wales, Stand Up To Racism (SUTR) has repeatedly failed to stand up against all forms of racism, particularly anti-Palestinian racism. For years, SUTR has shown a reluctance to address the issue of Palestine, with some local branches even avoiding the word altogether.
This refusal was the reason Brighton & Hove Palestine Solidarity Campaign disaffiliated from SUTR in 2022. In Scotland, SUTR welcomes and liaises with Zionist, pro-Israel organisations, in particular Glasgow Friends of Israel, which attended their marches waving Israeli flags. This has now resulted in a more popular and better supported anti-racism mobilisation led by Glasgow Genocide Emergency Committee.
Far Right Links with Zionism
Many prominent figures within the broader anti-racist movement have highlighted the inconsistency of fighting racism in the UK while turning a blind eye to the oppression of Palestinians. Jeremy Corbyn, for instance, has described the Palestinian solidarity movement as, “the backbone of anti-racism in the UK.’’ This statement is particularly relevant given the current alignment of far-right figures like Tommy Robinson, the English Defence League, and Britain First with Zionism. These groups view Israel as a defender of Western civilisation and an ideal anti-Muslim state. As Dutch far-right politician Geert Wilders once said, “If Jerusalem falls into the hands of the Muslims, Athens and Rome will be next.”
...
Recent Examples
SUTR has shown little concern for the discrimination faced by Palestinian students and academics. For instance, in Oxford, a Palestinian woman was silenced at an event following the fascist riots, with organisers claiming, “this is not a Palestinian demonstration.”
Similarly, during an anti-racism march in Wakefield, participants were told that Palestinian flags were not welcome to avoid “offending Jews in the local synagogue.” No meaningful justification was provided for these actions, nor was any formal apology issued by SUTR.
