4 years ago Russia launched the full scale war into Ukraine. The results are:
- Russia failed to topple the Ukrainian government
- Russia failed to defeat the Ukrainian army
- Russia failed to defeat the will of the Ukrainian people
- Russia failed to take Kyiv
- Russia failed to isolate Ukraine
- Russia failed to take a single regional capital
- Russia controls less than 20% of Ukraine compared to 27% in March 2022
- 1.2 million Russians have been killed or permanently wounded
- Russian energy infrastructure leading to the West has been practically entirely eliminated, whether by sanctions or physically
- Russian economy is purely a war economy producing nothing of worth for the future
- Russian resource are getting taken from China for the lowest price imaginable
The list can go on, but the results are clear: Despite investing everything they got into this senseless war, Russians have failed, big times. But in order to bring the war to an end, more has to be done. Ukraine's victory is the only path to sustainable peace. Aggression must not be awarded. The past has proven this over and over again. It is in our hands to end it and Putin, altogether.
I was born in Norway. I’m used to snow. I’m used to the cold.
Now I stand in Ukraine, in one of the hardest winters this country has seen in years. We have snow. We have freezing temperatures like not seen in years. The power is out. No heating. No warm showers. Water freezes. Food freezes.
So what do we do?
Together with the Ukrainian people, we keep moving forward for one common goal VICTORY.
You will never hear us complain.
The ones complaining are the ones sitting in warm houses, with heating, showers, and full tables.
But we don’t complain.
We move forward. Together. Until victory.
Slava Ukraini. 🇺🇦
The principle established by Magna Carta—that a ruler has no right to declare war or raise taxes at his own discretion—constitutes one of the foundational pillars of modern civilization and must be upheld with particular rigor in the age of nuclear weapons.
Yet on February 24, 2022, Vladimir Putin launched a full-scale war against Ukraine by his sole personal decision, acting not as a constitutional leader but as a monarch, unrestrained by any meaningful institutional checks.
Today, Donald Trump is openly striving to acquire similar powers, having nearly paralyzed Congress in the process. Driven by personal resentment—most notably over not having been awarded the Nobel Prize—he now goes so far as to almost “declare war” on Greenland.
One might say that Ronald Reagan and John McCain were fortunate not to have lived to witness this humiliation of America!
It is Russia who rejected the peace plan prepared by the US, not @ZelenskyyUa. The only Russian response were further missile attacks on Ukrainian cities. This is why the only solution is to strengthen pressure on Russia. And you all know it.
Russia's full scale war against Ukraine, which Moscow started on 24th February of 2022, lasts now exactly as long as the German-Soviet war in WW2, exactly 1,418 days.
This ludicrous number is for Russia a total embarrassment, especially when reflecting that Russia hasn't achieved even a single strategic victory. The Ukrainian state and government is very much in tact, same goes for the Ukrainian army.
I have also added two maps showing the control area of both factions between December 2022 and January 2026. The older map marks the moment after the successful Ukrainian counteroffensives in 2022, where Russia lost the entire fronts in the North, Kharkiv and Kherson.
As you can easily see, they are virtually identical. So, when you hear that Russia is moving forward then we are talking about minuscule speed. Even a snail would have been faster, literally.
The Russian human material losses are huge. Around 1.2 million Russian casualties (KIA, WIA and MIA) are accounted for and those stand in contrast to no achieved strategic goals.
The Russian economic losses are vast and actually far worse than the human material losses. Between $0.5 and $1 billion a day are the costs for the Russian war machine in order to keep it running. This abysmal number is not even Russia's biggest headache.
The economic losses from lost markets, especially Europe, will have far worse impact. In turn, Russia has become absolutely dependent on China, and is practically reduced to be an economic vassal of Beijing.
Politically, the Russian invasion has only been a nightmare for Moscow. Azerbaijan, Armenia, Syria, Venezuela, Sudan and now Iran are all countries were Russia lost all or almost all influence. Parallelly, Sweden and Finland joined NATO.
Despite the fact that Russia is still continuing this war of aggression, it is obvious that this war has caused just negative effects on Russia and its population. Ukraine in turn is suffering, as well, but managed to strengthen the Ukrainian identity. The state is intact. When comparing this with the quoted the WW2, then the only conclusion is that Russia failed on an epic scale.
🇺🇦 Zelensky: Another year passes, chosen by the devotion and steadfastness, the principledness and daily work of Ukrainians.
This year became possible thanks to our defenders – those who defended it not only for Ukraine, but also for all who value freedom and dignity.
We continue together with what holds us together: experience and memory, native word, hope and faith. We take with us the ability to cooperate and humanity – that which, despite everything.
We believe in peace, we fight for it and we work for it. Happy New Year, dear Ukrainians!
