We are pleased to welcome Jan Lemmens as Project Director for our First-of-a-Kind industrial facility at the @Chemelot Industrial Park. 👉 Announcement:
Jan brings more than three decades of industrial leadership experience across European specialty materials, plastics, and chemical processing, including senior operational and engineering roles at Sekisui S-Lec BV, RPC BEBO NL, Transilwrap Company, and Rexam.
In this role, Jan will lead project development, engineering, and construction activities for the FOAK facility, including site development, permitting, contractor coordination, and preparation for construction and operations.
His appointment adds dedicated, on-the-ground leadership as the FOAK program advances through engineering, permitting, and construction preparation, supporting the next stage of Hydrochemolytic™ Technology deployment in Europe.
Welcome to the team, Jan!

Some companies just announce stuff and talk a lot, while others like $ADUR actually deliver. About 2 years ago, Aduro announced a new patent, and now they have published a peer-reviewed paper proving that what their patent claimed was possible actually is. https://t.co/CIudqcftNU

In recent months, much of the conversation around Aduro has focused on Hydrochemolytic™️ Technology for the chemical recycling of waste plastics and the upgrading of bitumen and highly paraffinic crudes.
A new peer-reviewed paper brings renewed attention to another area of Aduro research: renewable oils.
Published in Sustainable Energy & Fuels, the study examines the thermocatalytic conversion of fatty acids and renewable oils into aromatic hydrocarbons, including BTEX, using a MoOx/HZSM-5 catalyst in a continuous fixed-bed reactor — without added molecular hydrogen.
For Aduro, this work is important because it supports the broader technical foundation behind our renewables upgrading research. It explores pathways for transforming renewable oils and waste-derived lipid feedstocks into higher-value fuels and chemical intermediates, while continuing to build scientific depth around applications that complement Aduro’s patent-backed chemistry portfolio.
From chemical recycling of waste plastics to bitumen and highly paraffinic crude upgrading to renewable chemistry, the common thread is clear: applying specific chemistry to lower-value feedstocks and creating pathways to more useful materials.
The paper was co-authored by Satyam Dixit and Craig Piacek, PhD students at @WesternU, together with Professor Paul A. Charpentier of Western University’s Department of Chemical and Biochemical Engineering. Aduro contributors include Marcus Trygstad, Principal Scientist; Anil Kumar Jhawar, Chief Scientist; and Birendra Adhikari, Head of R&D.
