@Daniel_Batal@TeamYouTube Here is my invalid traffic screenshot. First encountered mid November 2022. No inflation traffic banner in analytics until Jan/Feb. didn’t go away until March. Then hit again Mid August 2023. Still have the invalid traffic banner.
Dear @TeamYouTube,
We understand that you're dealing with Invalid Traffic from a variety of sources, and we realize it's no small problem for you, the advertisers you do business with and the greater Creator economy.
We understand that we may often become frustrated and often don't always ask the right questions when problems arise.
We also understand that YouTube is a place we think of as home because of all the wonderful things you've provided us over the years and continue to provide.
We further understand the reason why you might be limiting ads on content when your systems detect invalid traffic on the platform.
We even understand why you're being so tight-lipped about what you're doing behind the scenes to mitigate Invalid Traffic issues because we know you're trying to maintain the integrity of your Invalid Activity Detection System in attempts to prevent people from circumventing the system.
What we don't understand is why you've left us seemingly in the dark.
We don't understand why, without notice, you would twist the spigot and shut off Ad placement even on legitimate, organic views and diminish a Creator's total revenue by 80% with no clear answers as to how long Creators will have to survive on a fraction of our typical earnings.
Links to your support pages that don't give us any real answers to our questions are not enough.
We are real people, with real families, real employees, real mortgages and real financial commitments.
We are Creators with communities we've worked hard to build on YouTube in order to provide the very revenue that sustains these things.
Communities who spend time on the YouTube platform, enjoying our content & engaging with your advertisers.
We are the very people who have made YouTube the success that it is right alongside you.
We are, by your own word choice, your YouTube Partners and we are in crisis.
Imagine you, @YouTube, suddenly finding that 80% of your entire platform revenue was instantly & indefinitely removed with no clear answers as to how and when it would ever come back, if at all.
Wouldn't that put you into crisis mode as well...?
We have been as patient as possible up to this point but this issue dates back years for Creators we all know personally, and from our standpoint, it only seems to be escalating.
Suddenly, we see many more Creators who've had access to their AdSense accounts suspended (and subsequently YPP monetization removed entirely) through no fault of their own.
There is a simple answer here.
We need transparency.
We want to know what the endgame is.
We want to know that there are changes currently being made that will put an end to this plight for well-intentioned Creators who have been hit with Invalid Traffic notifications due to external forces and no misdeeds of their own.
We want to know that strategies, tools and support are being built to protect your YouTube partners as well as your advertisers.
We want to know what those changes might be and when they will take effect.
We want to know that you're developing a well-trained support team specifically to help Creators who've had their AdSense accounts and monetization suspended or impacted.
It only works when we're all in this together.
We await your reply.
With heartfelt respect,
-Your YouTube Partners ☮️
@robertoblake Good luck Roberto! What about a tool for collaboration? That allows channels of similar niches / similar sub counts, that helps them locate them and reach out to them to collaborate on videos? Maybe using data from “subscribers most recently viewed” or something.
Those dealing with invalid traffic, Colin and Samir will be having a sit town next week with the YouTube CEO.
This is your chance to have a strong voice in the community ask a hard question.
You just need to tell them it’s what you want to hear in the tweet below.
@IBRAGODYT Ya so crazy. Something really happened at YouTube on specific days over the past month or two for this to suddenly happen to so many at the same time.
Those following my journey with YouTube invalid traffic since Nov. 2022
CPM & RPM rates came back in March 2023.
Then plummeted again Aug 14th.
I also disabled non-linked accounts from running ads. Yet still got YouTube ad traffic. Can’t make this stuff up🤷♂️ #invalidtraffic
@johnkoetsier Yea it is and thanks so much for everything you have done for us affected! I was around and in a group chat with a lot of the guys you interviewed a few months ago in the video.
@jordanliles You are spitting truth here @jordanliles ! For now I just hope it normalizes by end of month. Then I want answers so we can all be reassured it won’t happen again or at least that we can actually do something to prevent it.
