Y2k sneaker boom
Onitsuka tiger boom
Technical/high performance running shoe boom

The last of these is perhaps the best candidate to be more lasting?

@nickgiva1 @gnoble79 Trick seems to become big in the index and just hang in there. The passives keep holding and the actives dont dare short a cult. And whenever the index falls they print money and stop the decline.

So maybe those without stocks who still need to buy food are really f'd.

@nitininvests Thanks Nitin. Imo may work for while, but study these businesses (beauty gadgets) in Japan to see they are terrible in the long run. They always attempt to portray razor blade type model but are mostly razor. They are subject to boom and then bust due to social fad - yaman, MTG

Sadly started reducing around this period. Exited far too early, failed to maximise on the opp.

Even though share price had moved, the valuation hadn't moved that much in absolute terms as book value was accruing at quite rapid pace. And valuation was still v discounted vs peers
