I want to give you guys some facts about General Chappie James. He wasn’t a “DEI” hire—he was a complete badass that had to overcome MORE than any white pilot. Did 178 combat missions—that’s like 7 bomber tours on a B-17 in WWII.

His medal count? Impeccable. 3 Distinguished Flying Crosses, 14 Air Medals, Two Legions of Merit, and a Defense Distinguished Service Medal. One of the original Tuskegee Airmen, the first four-star African American General.

Hegseth couldn’t sniff the level of soldiering and warrior that was in Chappie’s DNA. God bless him. And Hegseth took down his picture from a hallway like a racist little child, which is what he is.

This picture of Mrs. Myrlie Evers-Williams comforting her son Darrell at his father’s funeral breaks my heart.

It is all too similar to photos I have seen of my mother and me at my father’s funeral. The same grief. The same violence. The same racism. The same ache of a child forced to grow up without a father and a wife forced to live without her husband.

Sixty-three years ago today, Medgar Evers was assassinated after a life of courageous service for civil rights and voting rights. My prayers are with Mrs. Myrlie Evers-Williams, the Evers family, and all who continue to love and honor him.

Hunter's tweet about Planter is a perfect example of why critical race theory and critical feminist theory are so important. Because otherwise you get caught up in emotional arguments about forgiveness and "aren't we all sharing the same human condition?" yadda yadda. NO. We absolutely all are NOT sharing the same human condition. When certain groups of people have legal and physical power over other groups of people, you have created several DIFFERENT human conditions. And if you are a member of the group with the power, you have a moral obligation to acknowledge that and take that into consideration in all your speech and actions.
