Upcoming event!📢🎉
Register and join Richardo Twumasi at the next UCL conference on which will be exploring culture change, co-creation, staff development, institutional change, decolonial research and much more!
Thoughts on the UK riots: 1. They are inherently violent, and an assault on people's mental health. We all need to feel safe, but especially those who have fled for their lives and feel rootless. "Peaceful protest" that aims to make people feel unsafe and unwelcome don't exist.
@BeautyDhlamini There's a good event that will discuss the implications of the ICJ case by the way. I've tweeted some info about it, please do share widely! https://t.co/MH9JlgTMi5
On 20 Sept. Mohammad Salaymeh spoke on necropolitics in Palestine at our @GlobalHealthMSc#GlobalHealthCurrentStories event. He said that 'Israeli necropolitics continues into death for Palestinians'. That's clearer now than ever. His 10mins talk is here: https://t.co/BRT0KkKF5G
We're excited to share our journal's revolutionary model at an @RL_UK online event in December. Signup via their link to hear more about democratising academic publishing!
As an aspiring anti-colonial academic, I've been thinking about how I can show practical solidarity with Palestinians. The image shows my list of aspirations. I haven't managed even half of this, but I hope there are some useful ideas that can inspire and challenge.
Palestinians have the right to resist colonialism!
Palestinians have the right to resist occupation!
Palestinians have the right to resist apartheid!
Palestinians have the right to resist displacement!
Palestinians have the right to live with dignity in their own land!
Let’s never forget that Frantz Fanon's dissertation was rejected, which was later published as Black Skin, White Masks. Academia has always tried to push out those who question its colonial, capitalist, racist, and heteropatriarchal foundations.
This is how I first heard of @RicardoTwumasi@SohailJannesari and the amazing work they are doing with the launch of @Stolentools_ an antiracist journal via this podcast. If you are interested in antiracist qualitative work check them out and take a listen 🎧
