🐝🌎🌿🌱An action group, supporting solar power, BUT only sited in areas that do not harm our food sustainability, protected SSSI spaces or health & well-being.
🎉🐝🦇🎉 Rebecca Evans MS confirms refusal.
"In balancing the benefits against the harms the inspector finds the benefits of the proposal do not outweigh the harm to landscape character and visual amenity, heritage assets, and ecology/biodiversity.”

Find below the latest on the Craig Y Perthi Solar Farm application, which is currently with Welsh Government 👇 During the process, I along with others including @GwentWildlife formally wrote to Welsh Government to state my objections to the application.
With so many industrial distribution centres around the @GwentLevels , this seems such a missed opportunity rather than extensive, invasive proposals on SSSI 🐝🦋🦇🌾farmland. 😢

🐝🦇🪶 Recent surveys of the Llanwern Solar Farm situated to the south of the former Llanwern steelworks have revealed damage to the nationally important and designated Gwent Levels landscape.

Can all interested parties please respond to PEDW by 20/6/25 in relation to requested additional info (see portal).
Comments can only be made with reference to this info: ie Lapwing mitigation, peat & conditions.
Sadly mitigation measures are likely to fail as at Llanwern Solar.

The time is now! Nature needs a voice - and that voice is yours.
As part of our #ForceForNature campaign, we’re calling on people across Wales to meet with their elected representatives and speak up for the future of our planet and communities.

This breaks my heart..nothing is enough to tip the planning balance against solar development. This is fundamentally wrong.
Developers are gleeful and literally making millions at the expense of our communities and countryside. I wish I could do more. #eastyorkshiresolar
My contribution to yesterday's @SeneddClimate debate on nature loss, where I spoke about the Gwent Levels and the growing threat from proposed large scale solar farm to nature 👇
