Happening around the country…emergency physicians being relieved of their duties & replaced w/ cheaper, lesser trained alternatives. Patients will experience longer waits & more testing. There are also a bunch of resident physicians graduating next month who couldn’t find jobs.
The number of clinical supervised hours a physician performs speaks for itself. This is the standard for unsupervised medical practice. Don’t let Nurse Practitioners or Physician Assistants change the standard of care in the USA. We all deserve physician led care.
We went through 4 years of undergrad, 4 years of medical school, and 3-7 years of residency training not including fellowships. If these people pretending to be Doctors think we don't have the endurance to see this through to the end, then they're beyond wrong. #StopScopeCreep
@GloriousPCMD Agreed. The new "30" is much closer to a 32 (514) on the new MCAT. My main point was that medical school admissions become increasingly more competitive year over year. Getting into medical school is no small task and those who try to downplay the difficulty are misguided.
These are also outdated statistics and use the old MCAT scoring system. Medical school admissions are far more competitive and the MCAT itself is a far more difficult test.
This "Twitter woke" falsehood that anyone could just waltz right into medical school "if they wanted to" needs to stop.
The reality is it's one of the most grueling, difficult, strenuous academic pursuits you can undertake. And it SHOULD be. Insanely insulting.

Patients deserve physician-led care. Patients deserve physicians who are the most highly trained, educated, and skilled healthcare professionals to lead their care team. Physician-led care is and will always be the gold standard. #StopScopeCreep#PatientSafetyMatters#MedTwitter

We urge you all to reach out to your legislators TODAY to encourage them to support physician-led healthcare teams and OPPOSE HB 442. #lalege#MedicalSchoolMatters

@StopScopeCreep@MidlevelCare There’s no area of medicine immune from this - people may think it’s absurd an NP would even suggest they could perform stereotactic glioblastoma resection but the hubris of these people prove otherwise
I’d eat a shoe if even one NP could explain the mechanism of chromothripsis in leiomyosarcoma. They want to prescribe chemo now, too?
