Fascinating to meet with @JoannaLumleyUK's @StopSeaBlasts campaign. There are 100,000 tonnes of unexploded ordnance in UK waters left over after WW1 and WW2 which need to be cleared but we must do it in a way that does not endanger marine species.
Great to hear about the @StopSeaBlasts Campaign @ScotParl.
The detonation of expired bombs at sea must stop. This causes huge disruption to marine habitats and threatens the survival of whales and dolphins.

Today, Environment Secretary George Eustice joined Dame Joanna Lumley and the @StopSeaBlasts campaign at @ALFORDtech to observe alternatives to high order detonations.
The UK is committed to reducing underwater noise and protecting vital marine life.
I was excited to meet @JoannaLumleyUK outside Parliament earlier this week!
My constituents and I are thrilled to hear that the Govt has agreed to take positive steps towards disposing of old munitions safely, in a way that will not harm marine life.
Great work @StopSeaBlasts!
I was disappointed to have missed meeting @JoannaLumleyUK on her visit to Parliament to talk about her @StopSeaBlasts campaign, but nevertheless I support the Government's announcement that it will turn to more environmentally friendly methods of bomb disposal in our waters! 👏
Brilliant to meet @JoannaLumleyUK, to help the campaign to @StopSeaBlasts.
Their focus is to stop the detonation of expired bombs at sea as it damages the hearing of our marine life.
As a supporter of the @StopSeaBlasts campaign, the WCA celebrates the news that @DefraGovUK will be prioritising low noise methods of ordnance clearance, instead of detonations which are harmful to #whales and #dolphins.

Fantastic to meet Joanna Lumley with the @StopSeaBlasts successful campaign to stop old WWI/WWII bombs being detonated around the UK, causing hearing loss in marine mammals.
The UK Government announced yesterday that they will prioritise low noise alternatives. 🐳👏
Postive day! Marine Connection's Liz Sandeman recently joined Joanna Lumley and Stop Sea Blasts campaign team to hand in petition at Downing Street, relating to clearing unexploded bombs in UK waters - known to injure and kill whales.

Yesterday I had the pleasure of meeting Joanna Lumley at Parliament to discuss the appalling practice of sea blasts and to support the work of @StopSeaBlasts.
This campaign is crucial in Scotland especially 10 years after the tragedy at the Kyle of Durness.
Meeting the wonderful Joanna Lumley to share the news that Government has announced a preference for low noise alternatives to clearing the large quantities of unexploded ordnance around our coasts @DefraGovUK@JoannaLumleyUK@StopSeaBlasts
Marine Connection's Liz Sandeman recently joined Joanna Lumley and Stop Sea Blasts campaign team to hand in a petition at Downing Street relating to clearing unexploded bombs in UK waters - known to injure/ kill whales. Government is to pursue alternative methods of clearance.
Around the UK old munitions are detonated to clear the seabed & install wind farms, harming marine life.
@StopSeaBlasts have been campaigning for an environmentally friendly option.
Yesterday the govt announced this - congratulations to campaigners including @JoannaLumleyUK! 🐋
