Dear 905:
You voted to slash your kids’ schools, clog your ERs, pave wetlands, and hand cash to cronies.
But hey - the guy hates bike lanes and talks tough.
Congrats. You played yourself and the province.

This stunning @globeandmail photo essay documenting the restoration of the Don River mouth tells us something profound about who we are as a city:
1. Citizen activism matters. The citizen-led Task Force to Bring Back the Don worked tirelessly for over 30 years to keep the vision alive, hold politicians accountable, and demand the highest standards of environmental stewardship.
2. We’re capable of doing extraordinary things when we take the long view and commit to the hard work. This area was once a contaminated, degraded landscape. Decades of studies imagined the path forward, but as these images show, there was no substitute for patient, hands-on restoration.
3. This is the kind of work that calls on the best in us. Projects like this don’t happen without deep collaboration, technical excellence, and long-term commitment across many disciplines. They challenge us to rise to the occasion and to contribute our skills toward something lasting, something bigger than ourselves. Few undertakings are more worthy of our highest efforts.
As PM Carney launches a next generation of infrastructure projects, I hope this serves as proof that when we aim high and stay the course, we can build cities and a country worthy of the next generation.

Back when the government started flooding the airwaves w the slogan "more homes, faster", Ontario had 74,022 housing completions/yr.
After 3 1/2 years pf their gutting our construction efficiency rules on the pretext of trying to accomplish that, they're down to 36,998/yr. 👇
Amazing! Yesterday #Toronto passed our motion! Coming 2 #RichmondHill on July 2! Please send quick note of support to your councillor.

ecoCaledon, GASP and HeadwatersStopsThe413 invites you to rally on Saturday, July 12 at 1pm at Mill Square Park in Orangeville to tell Doug Ford and Sylvia Jones to repeal these horrific bills (5 and 17).
Lots of fun pride events, concerts, happening this weekend in York Region. It is time to show your tolerance (because it's a time of creeping fascism) so... if you ever planned to go but haven't... seize the day! #Solstice#YorkRegion#Pride2025

@sterling1marlin@Graff2023 Still, people do live in condos and they use water, transit, schools, sidewalks, libraries etc. Condos already pay less across the board for DCs because they are not adding as much to infrastructure needs.
Not enough adults in the room at York Region Council. What are Development Charges for? The things other than your house, that make a community liveable. No DC's = no good stuff. It's about time BILD stops this!

What’s to stop this government from declaring a Special Economic Zone in the Greenbelt, Algonquin Park or cottage country?
Bill 5 has no safeguards.
Thanks to @cottagelife for highlighting our record-breaking petition with 20,000+ voices speaking out against Bill 5.
