Hello there ๐๐ป
I've decided to set up this page due to the fact I'm going through a super tough time with my mental health at the moment.
I'm dealing with anxiety, panic attacks and irrational thoughts a daily basis, which, is honestly so overwhelming and all consuming.
Well today has been super stressful...
Work in itself is causing me strain but on top of the general stuff my dog went missing today. ๐ช
Thankfully she was found and returned to us within the space of an hour but that hour felt horrendous.
It felt like someone had punched my heart up to my throat and left it there.
On the plus side I also had another therapy session, yet again an absolute eye opener. The sessions are already helping me make changes and Im so thankful for that. ๐
Is it cheesy when a mental health advocate is looking forward to her next therapy session?
Asking for me.
I'm excited and ready to talk about what I need help with.
I hope everyone's Monday has been as okay as it can be. ๐
I had my 20 week scan today and all was well, which is great news. Admittedly, it doesn't stop me consistently thinking something could go wrong at any given moment, which is truly not helpful for my anxiety.
I'm doing as my therapist advised though and have been writing down the time and date of when these thoughts seem to be screaming in my head.
Sometimes documenting these them and the feelings that coincide is actually helping me to process everything.
โ
So I had my first therapy session yesterday.
I have never had therapy before, I always thought I didn't need it or that it wouldn't work.
But during this stage of my life I knew I had to reach out and ask for help.
It was a really positive session and quite an eye opener really.
Everything started to fit together like a jigsaw puzzle and my thought processes started to make a little more sense...
I keep telling myself I'm crazy, but I'm not, I just have some figuring out to do as to why my brain attacks me the way it does.
Have a wonderful weekend. ๐
I discovered today that suffering with anxiety and depression etc can cause quite substantial memory loss.๐ณ
And my gods did that hit home. When I was much younger my memory was pretty damn good, but now there are whole patches of my existence that I just cannot remember.
Or at least make it that bit better. ๐ฅฐ
We don't die with material items, all we have in the end are those treasured memories and I really don't want to keep losing them.
