Squee!!! My short story, “Follow Death” is slated for publication in Trouble the Waters, coming out January 18th, 2022! I am honored to have my work appear alongside some of heroes! https://t.co/hqUmpAYCh7
So I may just have gone a lil overboard with my costuming this year; my Habitica avatar got dressed up too… https://t.co/PrBzofw12I #HabiticaCostumeChallenge
Dyeing supplies arrived today! But I don’t have enough onion skins for my first project… should I A) wait to slowly gather more onion skins or B) change plans and dive right in using the weld pictured here instead? Any opinions?
@ADHD_Alien With a mechanical problem, the ability to physically intuit a solution—I often get blamed for broken objects or devices (rightly or wrongly), and I get tasked with “making it right.” I can figure out how just about anything works, but I still don’t have the words for its parts.
Ever feel like you’re going to gnaw your own arm off in boredom as you heal from injury? Want to get into fiber arts but don’t knit or crochet (or can’t b/c injury)? Well do I have a solution for you! Become obsessed with natural dyeing!
You don’t get to be offended if I decline an offer for a “beauty day.” Your idea of a “beauty day,” dear acquaintance, hits almost all of my dysphoria buttons in succession, and politely saying “no thanks, not for me” isn’t an attack.
No, acquaintance of mine, painting my nails will not make me feel better about my RSI. Painting my nails will just make me feel like my hands aren’t mine, and send me right on out of my own skin. Dissociating on top of not being able to do stuff = not fun.
I get that painting your nails can be self care if that’s your thing, but painting nails, for me, has a long history of discomfort. I’m not gonna let you swoop in, pronounce this a universal good, and demand I let you do this for me.
First #okra harvest! We got lotsa #heirloomplants Cow Horn (biggest group at the top) Star of David (the lil chubby babies) Silver Queen (slender pair at bottom), and Red Burgundy (all lonesome).
@Level20Artist I am so sorry you have to deal w/ parents who act that way. Deep empathy. By the by, once I’ve completed PT for my arm… may I crochet you a dice bag? A “drawing healthy boundaries” present… I think we should culturally celebrate more things like that ❤️
