@PetrifiedRobot Storyist 3 was last updated in 2019 but is still in use, especially by folks on older versions of macOS. Storyist 4 (released in March 2019) adopts Apple's modern design guidelines, which discourages Skeuomorphic elements like textured backgrounds.

@athenachannel To remove the circles (selection indicators), tap Cancel. This will exit the storyboard editing mode. Unfortunately, there isn't a way to print index cards in the iPad version. If you have access to a Mac, you can use the Storyist for Mac trial to print them.

@athenachannel If your files are stored in iCloud, yes. If they're stored in the "On my iPad" location (not the default), then no. Have you tried restarting your iPad? According to the to screenshot, Storyist thinks the app has been purchased, so it should be unlocked.

@athenachannel Restoring the purchase downloads your receipt from Apple if it is missing or damaged. A certificate that Apple uses for its licenses expired a week or so ago, which may be causing the issue. Does quitting and restarting the app help?

@KilianMuster In Storyist for macOS versions 3 and later, you can open the selection in the adjacent split view by holding down the Option key when clicking.

Unfortunately, Apple made some late-breaking changes to macOS Ventura that causes Storyist to crash when printing. A workaround is in testing. If you've already upgraded to Ventura and need to print or use story sheets, you're welcome to download it.
