This is a democracy. We can disagree on all kinds of issues, but taking away the rights of Americans to vote and to participate in our democracy is absolutely unacceptable. Period.
@SenSanders It is like they really don’t care what happens to the poor, the sick, the huddled masses just trying to survive, and with luck and planning prosper in a small but dignified way. Why? Keep up the great work, Mr. Sanders. You give so many of us hope.
Why in God’s name would the Minnesota state legislature enact a law that makes it illegal for motorists to hang air fresheners from their rearview mirrors? Do these lawmakers REALLY have nothing more important to deal with??
Police killed 121 people in traffic stops in 2020.
Black people are pulled over at disproportionate rates.
Sandra Bland. Philando Castile. Daunte Wright. All their deaths began with a traffic stop. Remove police from traffic enforcement. We can't keep adding names to this list.
So let me get this straight: Republicans in Congress claim spending billions on F-35s creates jobs, but spending on rebuilding roads and bridges doesn't?
The real court packing was when Mitch McConnell blocked Merrick Garland 8 months before election but confirmed Amy Coney Barrett 8 days before election when 65 million had already voted
Let’s be honest. Mitch McConnell doesn’t want corporations to “stay out of politics.” He just doesn’t want them telling the truth about what he and his allies are doing. He doesn’t want big business to bet on the future. He wants them supporting the injustices of the past.
The Republicans say that we cannot afford to invest in health care, education, housing, nutrition and the basic needs of working families. I say that we cannot afford to give trillions in tax breaks to the rich and large corporations and spend $740 billion a year on the military.
Am I the only one who doesn’t understand why Al Franken had to resign for a joke photo he took years before he was a senator, but the elected officials who participated in or encouraged the capitol insurrection are allowed to stay in government?
I don't care what was in his system. I don't care if he was drunk. I don't care if he was high. I don't care if he was angry. I don't care if he was sad. I don’t care. THAT COP’S KNEE SHOULD NOT HAVE BEEN ON THAT MAN’S NECK FOR ALMOST 9 MINUTES. Period. End of story. That’s it.
Just a casual reminder that in 1861, 11 Senators and 3 Representatives were expelled from Congress for failing to recognize Lincoln’s election and supporting insurrection.
