European officials are being instructed to take burner phones and sanitised devices if they have to travel to the US, in effect treating it as being as hostile as China, according to Politico EU:

"Sanitized devices: Brussels has already developed restrictions to try to stop digital information falling into the wrong hands. “The current advice from the [European] Council is that no electronics are taken to the U.S. or China,” said one senior EU official. “When this is not possible, the electronics that are brought back must be wiped.”

@afneil Israel has a completely militarised nation with every citizen having served. Completely different Defence model and one that, of the UK adopted would need a revolutionary 'whole of society' approach vs the 'small professional' model we currently have.
