Over 14 companies, learned societies and organisations were represented by brilliant women and nonbinary scientists who introduced their work, sector or industry.
CUWiP is an annual conference to improve confidence, self-concept, and sense of belonging in undergraduate women and nonbinary physics students @chrischirp talks about and encourage them to persist with further studies and careers in physics.
I only realise now how much I associated industry fairs at conferences mostly with men in suits. As part of the @CUWiPUK conference for undergraduate women and nonbinary physicists, we organised a job fair to showcase the wide spectrum of fascinating jobs available with #Physics
This point raised by @chrischirp resonates strongly with me. The highly skilled technical workforce in STEM subjects desperately needs more women and nonbinary scientists. I have been to my fair share of women-only academic panels and workshops. A 🧵.
