Some much needed happy news... CORNBREAD was adopted! 🥹🧡
Cornbread is a ~9 year old big handsome boy who came to us almost 1 year ago. He had been abandoned by his previous owners when they moved and left to fend for himself outside.
Mr. Oof is starting to accept head pets ❤️🩹 he's just still as a rock. when I pet him, something in his eyes makes me think he might've once known the gentle touch of a human, maybe a long time ago before his life went to shit, and he's trying to trust it again

Let’s talk about Rania Mallah, killed yesterday in an Israeli strike on Bourj al-Shamali in Tyre.
For 12 hours, Rania was buried beneath the rubble & known to still be alive.
Her family kept calling her mobile phone.
She would switch it on to let them know she was still there. Still breathing. Still waiting to be rescued.
To let Lebanese Civil Defence rescuers know where she was trapped.
Rescue teams pulled others out & kept digging with their bare hands in search of her, until orders came to halt all rescue operations until the following morning.
But they had Rania’s number.
They kept calling her.
And she kept answering.
She never spoke.
But they could hear her breathing.
For 12 hours, Rania lay there alone beneath broken concrete, stones, darkness, dust & fear. Most likely injured. Listening to voices above her, knowing people were trying to reach her but were being prevented from continuing.
Just like in Maarakeh, rescuers were forced to stop searching overnight.
Still, they kept calling her phone to give her hope. To let her know she had not been abandoned.
By around 1:00 a.m., roughly 12 hours after the strike, her phone finally went dead.
The battery had most likely run out.
This morning, rescuers resumed the search.
They found Rania.
Next to her was her mobile phone.
She had died.
Israel killed her twice.
The first time with a bomb.
The second time when rescuers were prevented from saving her.
this is a little reminder that rescuers have jobs, lives, health issues, depression, anxiety, etc just like you and I'm running a rescue on top of that, 24/7. I barely have time to breathe. please don't be a dick 🥰
anyway here are some cats

Boris is available for adoption! He is a ~4 y/o gentle giant. All he wants is cuddles and a tiny bite of whatever you're eating, is that too much to ask? 😌
He's FIV+ (no big deal) and loves other cats!

Bear escaped when my roommate left the door open this morning, I’ve been searching the neighborhood for three hours and I can’t find him anywhere. Please pray for his safe return, I’m losing my mind I’m so worried idk what I’m gonna do if I can’t find him.
Hi, I’m Bea from Brazil and I’m currently trying to raise $700 to cover emergency vet bills for my cats after hospitalizations, herpes complications, rhinotracheitis treatment, and ongoing care for my FeLV+ cat with CKD.
I hate to share this, but we will be saying goodbye to Thicc Skittles on Wednesday. She’s in pain, hardly eating, it’s time.
It is apparently $500 for the procedure, paw print, and cremation. I am on a limited budget and anything helps💜
Love, Tha Lady
