Looking forward to diving into @StreamGlass’ “A Decided Novelty.” Accomplished author Ian Douglass documents the history of black professional wrestlers from 1880-1950.
For me, a lot of the authors I discovered/connected with I came across while researching for “I am Your Champion!”
Some names I really recommend (in addition to Ian Douglass!) are Steven Johnson, Greg Klein, & Tim Hornbaker. @tonyrichards4 is another historian to listen to!
Print is dead and the future form of the Post-Gazette may not feature a physical paper at all, but I’m glad to have gotten my grandfather in there at last. He’s been in books and dissertations but never the hometown paper
