BE FLUENT.
If the local language is violence, you'd better know how to speak it. Not with hesitation, not with softness, clear, sharp, and without stutter. A man who shows up unprepared in that world doesn't get respect, he gets eaten alive. You don't have to love it, but you damn well better understand it. Violence isn't about rage, it's about control, precision, and survival. When the time comes, either you speak their language, or you'll be silenced by it.
@ManlinessNorms A communist and an atheist commenting on God is a little ironic. A murderer of those who disagreed with him politically, religiously and ideologically is not the best guy to quote.
I carry a gun (Glock 49 w/RMR) almost everywhere I go, no exceptions. I also train regularly with my pistol both live fire and dry fire. I have been dry fire training every single day this year as it was a Newโs Resolution. Structured training with 100-150 reps per day, from the concealed and gun belt setup.
If you carry a gun, you should be training with it at least once a week. That is the responsible thing to do and it will make you absolutely lightning fast on the draw and a tack driver with accuracy. Like in all things, reps matter.

โA wise man once said nothing.โ
I have been focusing simply letting people talk more, and only joining more into to the conversation when necessary. The more you let people talk the more insight you get about their intentions.
People with ill intentions are actors playing a role with a script. The longer you allow them to talk the harder it is for them to stay on that script. Let them expose themselves.
All gun laws are infringements on a manโs ability to defend himself and his family. No one person or government should be able to take away your right of self-defense against someone coming to do you harm.
