In other words, this society invariably values caste networks and unprofessionalism over competence. Nowhere in the world people writes such things praising such experiences.
A Bangalore tech founder finally experienced how Gujarati dhandho actually works.
I met a startup founder yesterday, exhausted, complaining that the manufacturing ecosystem is completely broken. His vendors were delaying shipments, crushing his margins and refusing to extend credit.
If you want to build a physical business, leave your tech mindset at home as it doesn't work in Indian manufacturing.
He thought the market was toxic.
The truth? The market just didn't know him.
Indian manufacturing runs on generational trust. It doesn't run on automated onboarding or email threads. I made one call and connected him to a vetted supplier in my network. He instantly got priority production and fair credit terms. Problem solved in 10 minutes.
You can have the best customer acquisition cost and the cleanest UI but the physical world is built on offline leverage. As a startup founder, start meeting new people and start doing founder branding simultaneously.
If your network can't fix a broken supply chain with a single phone call, your startup is already dead.

After almost an year of isolation and series of depressive episodes in life I went to a movie theatre today with a lot of hesitation. I had a lingering fear of this being another senseless action movie. But #Baththa defied all my expectations and proved to the comforting soup that my soul really needed. Thank you Balaji Tharaneetharan! Tamil cinema needed this. I needed it.
What kind of thought process is this Karuna? People who own 4 wheelers or for that matter two wheelers are economically well off than a significant portion of the population already. The traffic violations are a significant burden upon the common men. Sollanumnu edhaavathu vaandhi edukka koodadhu.
I’m in this exact spot. My baleno is 8 years old with 72k in the odometer. My heart is aching to get a new car. Mostly because I want a larger car. But I’m holding off as much as possible. At least till I hit 1 lakh in odo.
The worst financial mistake in car ownership is replacing the right car too early.
Don't upgrade every 5–6 years because the EMI ends.
The sweet spot is around 8–10 years or 1.2 to 1.5 lakh km.
It's when the cost of keeping it starts catching up with the cost of replacing it.
What's your replacement rule: years, kilometres, or repair cost?
It is not regionalism. It is called diversity. SC judges are called upon to adjudicate matters of social and constitutional importance. You cannot have judges from a template background. Their perception about things will remain the same. SC as an institution needs diversity in thought. It cannot come without diversity in background. That in itself is a merit.
Tell me you know nothing about how caste works in this wretched society but don’t give me this crap.
Take the example of wedding menu. Each caste will have certain preferences and must haves. This is just one example.
I married someone from a different caste. Right from naming ingredients to method of cooking, everything was different. It was starkly because of caste differences between me and my wife.
Such pure nonsense! Tamil Nadu’s most popular chain is the Saravana Bhavan chain, which serves only vegetarian food. It is highly and equally preferred by non-vegetarians and orthodox vegetarians. It was founded and is run by a family belonging to the meat-eating Nadar community.
Vegetarianism and non-vegetarianism mark distinctions in eating choices, and that’s it. Many people shift from being meat-eaters to non-meat-eaters for various reasons unrelated to religion, caste, or community.
It has become fashionable to see everything in India through the prism of caste, community, and religion.
@dhans4all Exactly! My use case is 90% city. Definitely EV makes sense. Same will go for running a predefined route regularly with known charging points. Else it is definitely a gamble at some point.
I’m a prospective RV buyer. In all these conversations one thing I can say is that if your usage is majorly within city limits go for an EV. If it is majorly highways, I have my doubts about the availability of charging infra. Also, personally I’m not sure about ‘planning’ for charging points on my trips.
Been waiting for long for these apples @saybwala must say worth the wait! Been a while since I had good apples with that crunch.
Also, I found this to be cheaper than the apples I regularly ordered from instamart. Of course, instamart apples were ranging from shit quality to occasionally good quality.
