@CraptastropheGG@DrD_Pad@AllanJBaker@BlazeBinges I think the backlash would be a lot less if it isn't marketed as "He-Man" . I think even just removing He-Man in the title would help a lot because it did mislead a lot of people.
@CraptastropheGG@AllanJBaker@BlazeBinges Subjective opinion are subjective opinions. And if they decide it's "woke" then it's woke. It's nearly impossible to remove that stigma now. Maybe by the next generation.
For me. I am fine with the series as a whole. But I couldn't blame the people who didn't.
@CraptastropheGG@AllanJBaker@BlazeBinges It's not really a fake take. Remember that in the old 80's series, he's basically there almost all the time. Yes, the focus eventually does come back for him, he's still not in it in the majority of it.
It's a huge tonal whiplash for those who are used to the old cartoons.
@CraptastropheGG@AllanJBaker@BlazeBinges If the title is "He-Man" and that character basically isn't in the whole series. People will react.
It can work in certain aspects (Say "How I met your mother") but not in an already established series with expectations.
As a personal opinion, it's OK. But I get the complaints.
@BralynJ@BlazeBinges He did. A He-Man series where the named person in the title dies in the first episode and the rest of the story is actually from a side character.
@AstroWolvez@BlazeBinges Most of the complaints were from old fans of the show expecting "He-Man" only for that character to die in the first episode and get replaced by almost the whole story.
@AllanJBaker@BlazeBinges Sadly this He-Man is considered one of those "woke" series. In this series Prince Adam is immediately killed in Episode 1 and the rest of the series is focused on Teela.
@InsomniaHRmedia@ayeejuju It depends. Some parents are just entitled to everything they spawned owned because they argue they would not exist without them.
@YuletideFrost No it's not Valve. It's EA. They started online gacha mechanics in FIFA09. Which was almost two years after John Riccitiello became the CEO of EA.
@ThatABSensei_2 The real answer AFAIK :
- People think of her as a Mary Sue archetype.
- She's a transplant from a cancelled game.
- Some people don't like cutesy female. Same issue with Lucky Chloe on Tekken.
Also Ingrid is intentionally not fit in SF6's art direction. Due to her hidden canon.
@Shebalbator@viteri_elias@LordShmeckie As a Filipino whos playing videogames since the 1980s. She meh. I'm still very confused on the hate she gets on the western fanbase ever since CFJ.
@_FORAB It feels like this clip is taken very out of context.
But if I would put an interpretation of it. He probably is thinking that he did the things he is supposed to do but it seems there's still something lacking.
Buf if he did things correctly, that's it. It's done.
@spacerunaway_ Beggars can't be choosers.
The guy hacker making this translation is now proofreading and retranslating it after this though. So I think it's a lot better than nothing.
@PLT_cheater@KynneloVyskenon@God_James_VII@ShitpostRock2 Probably because in Japan, "hakujin is literallt, white person. Just like the color, it has no political connotations (Except sounding wierd, ). So I guess the joke becomes almost a nonsequitur because the word"nigga" was directly used. I guess. *I'm not Japanese*
@St1ka I agree.
Having the real hardware and having to plug and boot it by yourself makes you more dedicated to playing and finishing a game
Having all 3500 in a menu kind of feels daunting. Maybe a sort of "choice fatigue" ?
@TheAmazonia It is kind of an expected reaction from people who did not know the character. But if people can learn who is the character they will start to appreciate it more.
A similar incident happened when SNK announced "Ganacchi" who is a real life DJ in Garou City of the Wolves.
