@JDrvrA1 Bearing in mind that both Sheffield and Nottingham trains sometimes leave from the same platform within three minutes of each other, it’s not an unreasonable question to ask.
@MartinSLewis Stop any mid contract price rises. If you sign a contract to pay £x amount per month over two years (for example), £x amount is what you should pay. The vendor gets the benefit of tying you in for 2 years, we should get benefit of paying what we signed up to.
@davwheat_ @rupert_airbear @merseyrail Merseyrail’s own terms and conditions state that tickets purchased from a third party such as trainline must be printed. Absolute madness.
@AlfJohn2003@LouHaigh They did have some nice 7 coach High Speed Trains up until this week. The Government (the DFT) told them to get rid as they were (allegedly) too costly to run.
@LouHaigh@UKLabour Come on @LouHaigh I’m sure you are better than this. The Passenger TOCs are in the government’s hands (except for open access operators). You are missing a golden opportunity to blame the tories for the state they are in, as they are calling the shots.
@Declanlyall@LiamThorpECHO The railways weren’t privatised in the 70s it was the 90s. And what everyone seems to be missing is that the current “franchises” are all controlled by the Government. The private companies are being told what trains to run and with the amount of carriages.
Ferret called it. Her instincts were right but Coutts wasn’t the target, NatWest was.Took me a while to work it out. They didn’t want to crash the bank, just the share price. And the Tories are criminally up to their necks in it.
@pacer142 @geofftech As a seasoned traveller I know STP well, but a visitor who has just arrived on the Eurostar is now expected to either know what train company they are travelling with or look at three departure boards to try and find their onward train.
@geofftech They look nice, but I’m not sure splitting the rail operators into separate departure boards is the correct thing to do. If I’m looking for departures to Derby I now have to make sure I’m looking at the correct departure board. Confusing for visitors I’m sure.
@LouHaigh@Captain_Deltic@LouHaigh if you (and Labour) don’t understand that the rail companies are already in public ownership and under control of the Government, then you don’t stand a chance of putting passengers first and saving our rail industry.
