Good morning #NASHPCONF23! Day 2 kicks off with a keynote by @StuartAndreason of the Burning Glass Institute on the current labor market, followed by an expert panel on strategies from the perspectives of states, employers, health systems, and health plans.
The panel now is talking about how much work has changed… to roles that hadn’t existed before… but maybe it’s the skills and content of jobs. We are producing a lot of the same goods and services differently… but many of the same@occupations. #techdisrupts22
What might drive that? I’d guess that there are many skills that are relevant in both types of production and as production and products green… so do skills! And lots of workers primed to make the transition!
The chief economist at @GM is taking workforce training and reskilling for EV production at #techdisrupts22 — their EV assembly lines are made up of up skilled workers — awesome!!
"We are no longer talking about workers without workers."
Excited to share our first blog on @FedCommunities on #WorkerVoices Project. We cannot have a complete picture of the economy without understanding the experiences of workers.

As we saw last week, quits in the US are at a historical high, and are not showing signs of cooling. Understanding what is causing people to quit is extremely important from a policy perspective (see interest rates and inflation), but even more so for employers. 🧵
